I DON’T BELIEVE YOU EXIST. 2023.

This moving image piece marked the beginning of my second year at AUB. Titled ‘I don’t believe you exist,’ it represents my personal exploration into the philosophical concept of solipsism, wherein the only existence I can prove is my own.

The brief, two-minute video presentation shows a projection piece where I illustrate my exploration and experimentation with the theory. Acting as both the artist and the “sole existing entity”, I conducted various methods, such as licking, screaming, and hair-pulling on subjects in an attempt to validate this philosophical hypothesis. Despite my efforts, the subjects displayed no discernible reactions, leading to my conclusion, you don’t exist.
